The problem
When entertainment is passive, guests default to screens. They're physically present but socially absent — next to each other, not with each other.
Why physical play solves this
Physical, facilitated play creates genuine stakes, real laughter, and unpredictable outcomes that are inherently more interesting than a feed. When something exciting is happening right in front of you, the phone never comes out.
In practice
We don't enforce a no-phones rule. We make the alternative so compelling that the rule isn't needed. Even phone-attached teenagers put theirs away within 10 minutes of the first game.
